2026 Update to Technical Agreement on Biocides ‘Environment’

On the 16th March, ECHA published an update to the Technical Agreement on Biocides ‘Environment’ for 2026, following their previous update in June 2025. This is following the previous TAB update for Efficacy.

In this update, there is a mix of both new and updated entries that have been listed below:

New Entries:

  • ENV 266 – Updates of local soil concentration (Clocalsoil) calculation for baits for pigeons, baits for sparrows, treated eggs and egg-oil coating in open rural areas
  • ENV 272 – Harmonised list of endpoints for the common metabolites of pyrethroid active substances
  • ENV 275 – Alignment of the ECHA bee guidance with revised ESD PT 18 for household uses and corrigendum on shortcut values
  • ENV 276 – Emission scenario for “preservatives used in leather processing” change in Elocal calculation
  • ENV 277 – Biodegredation in water and sediment – reporting of DT50 values in IUCL - ID and their use by Chesar Platform

Updated Entries:

  • ENV 4 – Which active substance constituents should be considered in the PBT assessment and risk assessment (including constituents of plant extract material or other UVCB substance)?
  • ENV 68 – Breweries: relevant emission scenario and emission periods
  • ENV 164 – Taking into account degradation in manure
  • ENV 192 – Disinfection of drip irrigation systems
  • ENV 228 – Revision of the emission scenario for drinking water disinfectants

This update brings about a new entry offering additional clarification with the ECHA Bee guidance that was published in 2024, alongside updates to calculations which must be taken into account for Environmental Risk Assessments.

Every entry, both new and updated, in this new version of the Environmental TAB, is applicable from March 2026.
