Following the 60-day consultation on the SEAC draft opinion for the Universal PFAS Restriction proposal, ECHA has announced that more than 3,500 comments were submitted. ECHA is currently assessing these contributions and remains on track to finalise the SEAC opinion by the end of 2026.
To support transparency, ECHA has also published statistics on the submissions received, including geographical distribution, respondent type, and sector representation. These statistics accompany the non-confidential information provided during the consultation and offer insight into the breadth and diversity of stakeholder engagement with the proposal.
The unprecedented level of feedback highlights both the complexity of the proposed restriction and its potential implications across a wide range of industries and applications.
